Detikcom is an Indonesian digital media company owned by CT Corp subsidiary Trans Media. Detikcom is an online news portal and publishes breaking news. The portal is reliably ranked among Indonesia's 10 most-visited sites and is among the best 250 in the world. It gets roughly 180 million visits each day.

Detikcom has its foundations in DeTIK, which was Indonesia's top-selling and most basic political newspaper in the mid 1990s. DeTIK was effectively restricted on 21 June 1994, when Information Minister Harmoko withdrew its publication license along with Tempo and Editor magazine. DeTIK had upset the repressive regime of long-serving president Suharto by publishing interviews with senior military officials who were critical of civilian politicians. The newspaper had likewise set out to speculate on who might succeed Suharto.

Following the resignation of Suharto on 21 May 1998, some journalists chose to set up an online news portal. Detikcom was initially established by Budi Darsono (previous Tempo and DeTIK journalist), Yayan Sopyan (previous DeTIK writer), Abdul Rahman (previous SWA writer), and Didi Nugrahadi. The domain name detik.com became active on 29 May 1998, however the site didn't begin delivering content until 9 July 1998, which is considered as its founding date. The founders focused in on continuously updating breaking news, just as more analytical articles. Detikcom's first office was a little room at Lebak Bulus Stadium in South Jakarta

On 3 August 2011, Detikcom was acquired by Trans Media under CT Corp, owned by Chairul Tanjung. He has kept up the site's independent, neutral and unbiased media position. In 2019, Detikcom expanded into a media group called Detik Network, which comprises of CNN Indonesia, CNBC Indonesia, Haibunda, Female Daily, Beautynesia, and insertlive.

The Wall Street Journal, also known as The Journal, is an American business-focused, English-language international daily newspaper based in New York City, with international editions also available in Chinese and Japanese. The Journal, along with its Asian editions, is published six days a week by Dow Jones & Company, a division of News Corp.
The Wall Street Journal is one of the largest newspapers in the United States by circulation, with a circulation of about 2.834 million copies (including nearly 1,829,000 digital sales) as of August 2019, compared with USA Today's 1.7 million.
The Journal's editorial board has promoted views that are at odds with the scientific consensus on climate change, acid rain, and ozone depletion, as well as on the health dangers of passive smoking, pesticides, and asbestos.
In 1896, The "Dow Jones Industrial Average" was officially launched. It was the first of several indices of stock and bond prices on the New York Stock Exchange. In 1899, The Journal's Review & Outlook column, which still runs today, appeared for the first time, initially written by Charles Dow.
In 1921, Barron's, the United States's premier financial weekly, was founded. Barron died in 1928, a year before Black Tuesday, the stock market crash that greatly affected the Great Depression in the United States. Barron's descendants, the Bancroft family, would continue to control the company until 2007.
Since then, digital subscription has risen to 1.3 million as of September 2018, falling to number two behind The New York Times with 3 million digital subscriptions.
